Bridget Sibanyoni is Grant Africa's author, and a publishing professional, editor, content writer and proofreader based in Pretoria, Gauteng. She holds a Bachelor of Information Science in Publishing from the University of Pretoria (2020-2023), and she has worked as a freelance content writer since January 2019, which is more than seven years of writing for readers online. She also works as a private tutor, and from February 2025 to January 2026 she completed a publishing internship at Sabinet. Her skills include content management systems (CMS) and project management.
At Grant Africa, Bridget writes the SASSA grant guides: status check guides, payment date guides and step-by-step explainers for every grant type. She writes in plain language, because a guide only helps if the person reading it can act on it the first time. She works alongside our researcher, Danford Tafadzwa Chibvongodze, on every topic, and every guide she writes is then fact-checked by Robynn Hera, our editor and fact checker, and approved by Lindelwa Mzolo, our manager, before it is published. Every guide follows official SASSA sources, and corrections from readers are welcomed at info@grantafrica.co.za, checked and fixed.

What Bridget Writes
Bridget writes the guides that this whole site exists for:
- SASSA status check guides: how to check your SRD R370 and grant status on the official portal, and what every status (Pending, Approved, Declined, Referred) means for you.
- Payment date guides: the confirmed SASSA payment dates for every grant type, updated whenever SASSA announces a change.
- Grant explainers: plain-language guides for the SRD R370, Older Persons, Disability, Child Support, Foster Child, Care Dependency, Grant-in-Aid and War Veterans grants.
- SASSA news: what changed, who it affects, and what you need to do, written when SASSA makes an announcement.
Her Place In Our Process
No guide on Grant Africa is written by one person alone. Our researcher, Danford Tafadzwa Chibvongodze, first finds the topic and researches it against official SASSA information. Bridget then writes the guide with Danford present, so the facts and the writing stay together. After that, our editor and fact checker, Robynn Hera, reviews the finished guide and verifies every fact in it. Only then does our manager, Lindelwa Mzolo, approve it, and only then is it published under Bridget's name.
If you spot anything in a guide that looks wrong, email us at info@grantafrica.co.za. Corrections from readers are respected, checked and fixed.
Checked Twice Before You Read It
Nothing Bridget writes goes live on her word alone. Robynn Hera, our editor and fact checker, verifies every date, amount, step and claim in each guide against official SASSA information. Lindelwa Mzolo, our manager, then gives the final approval, and Lindelwa worked in grant administration at SASSA on contract from 2013 to 2015, so the person who approves these guides has handled grant processes from the inside.
Every guide follows official SASSA sources only: sassa.gov.za and srd.sassa.gov.za. If official SASSA information ever differs from a guide on this site, the official information is correct and we fix the guide. Corrections are welcomed at info@grantafrica.co.za.
